Green Seal® Certification
YOLO Colorhouse paint is Green Seal certified. Green Seal is an independent non-profit setting standards for environmentally responsible products. YOLO Colorhouse sought certification from Green Seal because it is the most comprehensive certification with standards that address a full life cycle evaluation.
Green Seal certification, 2008 (GS-11, 2008) is based on VOC content, the absence of 1000+ chemical compounds, packaging requirements, performance requirements, manufacturing practices, and end of life education. For more info, go to www.greenseal.org
Green Seal certification automatically qualifies YOLO Colorhouse® for LEED points under GS-11, 1993. YOLO Colorhouse was the first paint company in the nation to receive certification under the new GS-11, 2008, a much more stringent criteria and specification than GS-11, 1993.
One of the biggest differences in GS-11,1993 and GS-11, 2008 is the prohibition of 24 chemical compounds for GS-11,1993. GS-11,2008 prohibits 1000+ chemical compounds.
Green Seal is the only US Ecolabel recognized by the Global Ecolabeling Network – like Europe’s Blue Angel. For more info, go to www.globalecolabelling.net
